I seem to be having quite a lot of connection problems with BattleForge. I don't know if its because I am a Free to Play player at the moment, but when I first booted up the game I had to create a Watcher with a picture. I look through the pictures, select one, and type in my name.
Then I see the mouse cursor turn into an hourglass and I wait for a few minutes. As I'm waiting I'm thinking this shouldn't be taking this long. So I wait a little bit longer then a message pops-up saying your connection to the server has been lost.
Ok, so I log in again and see that my Watcher has been created, I select it and click continue. I wait awhile and finally the game starts to load and I select tutorial.
Great I think maybe creating the Watcher just had a little hiccup. I'm playing the tutorial and I tell my soldiers to attack this rebel hut. They start hacking away at the tent and two enemies come out. I tell my soldiers to turn their focus to the enemy soldiers and the game slows down to a crawl. Eventually my guys defeat the enemy and then a message comes saying I was disconnected from the server again.
I don't think its my graphics card, and I know my computer exceeds the minimum requirements. I don't usually have connection issues with other games so I'm not sure what the problem is. Right now I am pretty frustrated though.

New Game
I heard about this game called BattleForge last year and it looked promising. It said it was going to be free to play, but when the game was first released this year in March I think it was retailed for forty dollars so I didn't buy it right away.
Today I watched a video of Battleforge on Youtube and thought wow this game does look really good and fun. I really am a big fan of RTS style games (I bought starcraft 2 when it first came out). Plus this game seems like you don't have to spend a lot of time building up your base and collecting resources like in a traditional style RTS. You just summon your army by selecting which card you want to play, and you can change your army around by picking different cards to form a deck. That is one of the things I hate the most is having to build up your base at the start of every single multiplayer game.
Right now I am downloading Battleforge and in my next post I will be giving my first impressions.
